3/5 definitely not my favorite i feel like it was just too long
Pooh,
Touching!Excellently written。 This was a slow-burn story for the ages。 Sassy Yaya gave Dare a run for his money。 He was up for all the challenges to win his love。 He learned ASL so he could communicate with her and delved into the deaf community's culture to earn Yaya's trust and express his utter love and devotion。 Yaya had to come to terms with loving a hearing person and get out of her own way。 The fiery chemistry between the 2 kept things very juicy。 Beautifully done and well deserving of 5 Touching!Excellently written。 This was a slow-burn story for the ages。 Sassy Yaya gave Dare a run for his money。 He was up for all the challenges to win his love。 He learned ASL so he could communicate with her and delved into the deaf community's culture to earn Yaya's trust and express his utter love and devotion。 Yaya had to come to terms with loving a hearing person and get out of her own way。 The fiery chemistry between the 2 kept things very juicy。 Beautifully done and well deserving of 5 stars。 。。。more
Nakima,
Womderful story!!This story was wonderful!! I have been waiting on YAYAs story forna minute now。 It was definitely worth the wait。 This story was a roller-coaster that I didn't want to get off of。 All the ASL was beautifully done and gave a different perspective into a community that can sometimes get over looked。 I love it!! T'Odes,
There was so much going on that the personalities of the MCs didn't come through。 It's a wordy, boring book that didn't peak half way through。。。。 There was so much going on that the personalities of the MCs didn't come through。 It's a wordy, boring book that didn't peak half way through。。。。 。。。more

*Debby Ryan hair tuck* I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit heartbroken when I learned that Yaya wasn’t d/Deaf because it just sounded out of character。 She spent the entire first half of the book talking about being immersed in the Deaf community, using ASL as her primary language of communication and even went so far as saying she would only date a deaf man。 But somehow she sees her deafness as a medical nuisance? Make it make sense。 Other than that this book was an adorable fake-dating to *Debby Ryan hair tuck* I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit heartbroken when I learned that Yaya wasn’t d/Deaf because it just sounded out of character。 She spent the entire first half of the book talking about being immersed in the Deaf community, using ASL as her primary language of communication and even went so far as saying she would only date a deaf man。 But somehow she sees her deafness as a medical nuisance? This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I really enjoy Arthurs' style of writing and the Farmhouse crowd has always been fun to revisit, but this book is absolutely dragged down by an unnecessarily long third act that frustrated me beyond reason。 I love Yaya's strength, but Dare's communication issues made me wonder how they would work as a couple outside of this being an instalove romance。 I know some people enjoy angst in their third act, but I absolutely hate when someone goes radio silence without giving their former partner a cha I really enjoy Arthurs' style of writing and the Farmhouse crowd has always been fun to revisit, but this book is absolutely dragged down by an unnecessarily long third act that frustrated me beyond reason。 I love Yaya's strength, but Dare's communication issues made me wonder how they would work as a couple outside of this being an instalove romance。 I know some people enjoy angst in their third act, but I absolutely hate when someone goes radio silence without giving their former partner a chance to explain what happened, especially when the issue is as miniscule as Yaya chosing to talk with Henry。 Why wouldn't Yaya go to coffee with her best friend, someone she's known for years longer than Dare and has always felt was a brother? I recognize that Arthur has inferred that Dare "knows" Henry is in love with Yaya, but she has no idea。 The way Dare broke up with Yaya because of this without taking two seconds to ask her how her meeting with Henry had gone and then completely shutting her out was childish。 When his sister, who is a bit of a bigot, also didn't give her a chance and was able to brush her off because of Yaya's disability, I was very concerned about their eventual ending。 I can't stand in these books when a very rich man is very, very wrong but the poor female character is written to make the concession and final major move because of the man's inability to communicate at all, despite apparently being business genius。 I'm pretty over the way authors drag out the third act to add more pages, especially in this case where the book could have been 200 pages shorter if the misunderstanding was resolved normally。 I'll read the next book, but I hope she learns a new way to write conflict。 。。。more
